The alarm goes off and what do most people do? That’s right…they hit the snooze bar once, twice or three times…sometime they turn it off all together. Then all of those great plans they had for the day when they went to bed the night before get thrown out the window because when their feet finally do hit the floor they are in total panic/crisis mode…they are starting their day out behind the 8 ball. And when you start your day out in a panic/crisis behind the 8 ball that is typically how the rest of your day is going to go…panic and crisis.
The key to success at almost everything in life is starting off with and executing on a good game plan. It does not matter what area of your F5 (Faith, Family, Friends, Fitness, Finance) we are talking about. It holds true in business, sports, relationships, investing, etc. Name it…having a good plan or routine to get out ahead of the competition is the key to winning. There have been countless studies on successful people and one of their most common characteristics is a great morning routine. It amazes me how many people I see that wake up and just kinda take what life gives them instead having a plan and then going out and taking what they want. Most successful people will tell you that seizing your morning routine is paramount to success. Look, we all know that if you wait until the end of the day to do those meaningful, but not urgent things in life, like praying, exercising, reading, giving your family your best, doing some financial planning, etc. it probably won’t happen. The only way to make sure those things do happen is doing them first.
Not that I have it all figured out by any means, but what I do know is that when I have a good morning routine I typically have a good day. On the other hand when my morning routine sucks, my day typically sucks. So what is your morning routine? Do you have a good one? Do you have one at all or is it just a cup of coffee and a donut as you go running out the door? If you are looking for some ideas on creating your winning morning routine/formula, check out mine. I don’t always nail it, but I do most days and when I do I typically nail my dayas well. I hope it helps and inspires you to take from the day instead of just getting through it.
